Maria Maniati

Maria completed a BSc in Biology at Queen Mary College and an MSc in Biodiversity and Taxonomy at Imperial College, University of London. She has worked as a research assistant at the Greek National Center of Scientific Research “Demokritos” and the Museum of Anthropology of the Medical School of Athens, with main research subject the unravelling of the Ancient Greek diet using stable isotope techniques.

She is also a certified adult and kids yoga teacher. Her teaching, combining scientific knowledge and yoga exercises, focuses on mind and body connection through positive body movement and mindfulness in order to create a better relationship with physical exercise. She aims to add awareness to the body posture, movement and breathing in the everyday hectic lifestyle.

In 2016 Maria joined as a partner the Non-Profit Orgranisation “Mathaino Diatrofi” (Learning to Eat Right), aiming to promote balanced eating and active lifestyle in order to prevent obesity and chronic diseases through targeted education and awareness.
